Noble Excavating Inc. completed this fast-paced multi-faceted project under a joint venture with Wm. Winkler Company. Per request by Spokane International, this two-year project was accelerated to be completed in one construction season. The owner was very pleased when the project was completed one month ahead of the accelerated schedule.

Noble Excavating’s portion of TRC 1 involved the demolition of the existing terminal ramp. This included 33,000 SY of 16-inch thick concrete paving, 12,000 SY of bituminous concrete pavement, and various other items. When this was complete 32,000 CY was excavated from the site to make room for the 18,000 CY of crushed base course and meet the new lines and grades. To facilitate drainage approximately 5,500 LF of PVC under the drain was installed along with 1,500 LF of RCP storm drain, and a multitude of precast drainage inlets. Before the new concrete paving could be completed we performed 44,000 SY of fine grading and compaction. All work was completed to very stringent FAA specifications implementing the latest in GPS technology.

This project was completed while keeping the airport operational and following the strict security guidelines without incident. Throughout this project, the owner was very impressed with the speed, accuracy, and end product provided by our team.
